STEP 11
What's New
How to use the features added in recent updates. Available in iOS 1.0.44 / Android 0.4.33 and later.
Can't find a new feature? Update the app to the latest version on the App Store or Google Play.
1Rapid Scan
Register parcels one after another just by photographing the delivery slips โ no location check in between. Handy when you need to register many parcels before loading.
- On the parcel registration screen, tap "๐ท Rapid Scan (add by photo only)" to open the in-app camera.
- Each time you press the shutter, reading runs in the background so you can shoot the next slip right away. A sound, a vibration, and a green โ tell you when a parcel has been added.
- Progress is shown as "Reading N ยท Added N ยท Needs review N".
- Scanning ends when you cancel or reach 20 parcels in total.
Up to 20 parcels can be waiting to be registered at once. Once you reach 20, tap "Register All" to finish registering them, then continue scanning.
2Addresses Needing Review
During Rapid Scan, HAKOBUN automatically checks whether each address can be located on the map down to the house number. Parcels like the following are not added yet โ they're moved to "needs review" and highlighted with a flashing red indicator.
- No house number in the address
- A hyphen may be missing in the house number (e.g. "85011" โ suggests "850-11")
- The house number was not found on the map
- The tracking number duplicates a registered or pending package
When all photos have been read, the "Addresses Needing Review" screen opens automatically (you can also open it from "โ Fix N items needing review").
- Correct the address, recipient, or tracking number while viewing the slip photo (tap to enlarge), then tap "Recheck". If there's no longer a problem, the parcel is added.
- If the address is correct and the map data simply lacks that house number, tap "Add as is". You can also use "Add all remaining N as is".
The check is intentionally strict. In areas with limited house-number data, even correct addresses may be flagged for review.
3Duplicate tracking number protection
Whether you type it in or scan it, if a package with the same tracking number already exists you'll see "A package with the same tracking number is already registered", along with whether the duplicate is a package waiting to be registered or one already in your package list. This prevents registering the same parcel twice.
4Multi-parcel stops in one pin
Parcels with the same address and recipient but different tracking numbers are grouped into a single pin on the map.
- The pin and its map label show "(N pieces)", and the balloon shown when you tap the pin lists "๐ฆ N pieces" with every tracking number.
- Changing the delivery status from the balloon applies to all grouped parcels.
- Stop numbers count destinations, not individual parcels.
5Fixing pin positions (a map that learns)
If a pin calculated from the address is off from the real destination, long-press the pin on the home map and drag it to the correct spot. Your phone vibrates when the pin is picked up.
- The corrected position is used automatically the next time you register the same destination (same address and recipient).
- For parcels loaded from a recurring course, the course's position is updated too.
- Moving a multi-parcel pin moves all grouped parcels.
This is the heart of HAKOBUN's "map that learns" โ the more you use it, the more accurate your map becomes. Corrected positions are saved as learned data and included in backups.
6Nearby stops light up
When you come within 50 m of an undelivered stop, an orange ring pulses outward around its pin. This helps you avoid driving past a stop while looking for a nameplate or among similar buildings.
7Leg times, distances & rerouting
- The home screen shows the travel time and distance for each leg between stops (in hours and minutes).
- While a pin is selected and its route line is shown, tap a road that isn't on the route to reroute through that road โ useful for roadworks or roads you prefer.
8Street View & address lookup
- Tap a pin, then "๐ท Street View" to see a photo of the area around the destination โ helpful for spotting landmarks at a new stop.
- Long-press an empty spot on the map to check that location's address down to the house number.
Street View imagery isn't available everywhere. In that case you'll see "Street View is not available for this location".
9Group chat
Groups created with a QR code (10. Group Feature) include a chat for members. It supports read receipts, attaching images, PDFs and other files, clickable links, and voice input.
10Backing up to a file
From "Backup & Restore" in the side menu (โฐ), you can save and restore your data as a file.
- "Save to file (backup)": saves parcels, recurring courses, your profile, learned data (corrected pin positions and address labels), and settings in a single file. The number of parcels and learned locations saved is shown afterwards.
- "Choose a file to restore": select a saved file to restore its contents.
Restoring replaces all currently registered data with the contents of the file. Always save to a file before switching phones.
11Choosing sound effects
Under "Sound effects" in Settings (side menu โฐ), you can choose "None" or Sound 1โ8 for the following sounds used during Rapid Scan and parcel registration. Tap โถ to preview.
- Shutter sound
- Registered sound
- Registration failed sound
Vibration works regardless of these settings. On iPhone, the system shutter sound always plays when taking a photo, and the sound you choose plays on top of it.
12Revenue calculation at end of day
In the end-of-day process (7. End of Day), HAKOBUN calculates revenue from the number of parcels delivered and your rate, and records it to your calendar as "Delivery revenue: N x rate = total" and "Total revenue".
- Set your usual rate in "Delivery/charter rate" on the account screen.
- You can also change the rate for just that day on the end-of-day screen.
